Food Rates Rewards Program Allows Users to Save Money

Chandler Villacruz has served as a senior marketing manager at the online restaurant rating platform Food Rates since 2008. Among his many accomplishments in this role, Chandler Villacruz helped develop Rates Rewards, an innovative program that compensates users for their various online interactions.

Using digital gamification techniques, Rates Rewards gives people 50 points for each restaurant review they post via the company’s website or mobile application. Sharing a link to their review on social media earns users 20 additional rewards points. Additionally, individuals receive 10 points every time they check in to one of Food Rates’ partner restaurants.

Food Rates users can exchange the points that they earn for discounts at participating restaurants. For 1,000 points, they can receive a coupon for $5 off of their next visit to an affiliate eatery. Rates Rewards features additional rewards tiers at 2,000, 3,000, and 4,000 points, which garner users $10, $15, and $20 restaurant vouchers, respectively. Those who accumulate at least 10,000 points in a single year gain access to the Rates Rewards VIP program, which grants them twice as many points per interaction.
